Kanoko moyo 鹿の子模様
Kanoko moyo means a dappled pattern (traditional Japanese pattern). Kanoko pattern is named after the resemblance to the spots on the back of a fawn.
As the koi terms, Kanoko moyo shows color (Hi, Sumi, Yellow etc) dots on a center of white scales. It is hard for their pattern to form evenly, but sometimes we can find outstanding Kanoko that have beautifully uniformed patches and kanoko pattern. The term comes in front of the variety name such as Kanoko Kohaku, Kanoko Sanke.
